B.A ECONOMICS Model-1

BA Economics Model one is a 3 year bachelor's degree course that provides students an in-depth understanding about the various problems facing economies, major thoughts and theories in Economics, economic functions, international relations and trade along with economic growth and development.

This course is mainly for students who have an interest to know about the Economy. At the end of three year BA Economics programme, the students will be able to :-

  • PO1- Build a strong foundation in Economics
  • PO2- Seek variety of career options in profession like teaching, Indian Economic Service, financial analyst, economic advisor etc
  • PO3- Equip with skills and knowledge to excel in their future careers
  • PO4- Can enter into master programmes like MA Economics , MSc Economics
  • PO5- Develop entrepreneurial skills
At the end of three year BA Economics programme the students will be able to:-

  • PSO1- Understand the application of economic concepts and theories in both theoretical and practical aspects.
  • PSO2- Help to know how economics and human behavior are related.
  • PSO3- Students can understand the problems faced by different areas of economic life, methods to solve it and help to understand how to bring economic development.
  • PSO4- Develop proficiency in international relationships between different economies.
  • PSO5- Attain knowledge in public economics and related concepts.
  • PSO6– Analyse working of four factors of production in economics like, land, labor, capital and business organization and how it is rewarded.

After completing each discipline under three year BA Economics programme the students will be able :-

SEMESTER 1

  • Core Course: Perspectives And Methodology Of Economics

    CO1 - Help to understand the various disciplines under social science
    CO2 - Deals with methods, rules,tools and postulates employed in economic disciplines.
    CO3 - This study of society and the manner in which people behave and influence the world around us.
    CO4 - Cover major schools of thoughts in Economics and it includes research methodology
    CO5 - To introduce the importance and fundamentals of business research

    Complementary Course:Social Formation In Pre Modern India

    CO1 - It deals with facts abouts ancient society, their customs, culture etc
    CO2 - Cover the factors contributed to the emergence of feudalism
    CO3 - Help to understand political economy of Delhi Sultanate
    CO4 - Attain knowledge about Mugal Social Formation and factors contributed to it.

SEMESTER 2

  • Core Course: Micro Economic Analysis I

    CO1 - The paper provides an introduction about micro economics
    CO2 - Gives a detailed analysis about demand and supply.
    CO3 - Help to understand the consumer behavior in given situations.
    CO4 - Can attain knowledge in theories of production and cost

    Complementary Course: Transition To The Contemporary World

    CO1 - course explains the trials and turbulences and transitions that the world had experienced and analyses the problems of the present day world developments.
    CO2 - To know the French Revolution and its impact
    CO3 - To know about imperialism and related concepts
    CO4 - To understand The Great Depression and about international organizations

SEMESTER 3

  • Core Course: Micro Economic Analysis II

    CO1 - Analyzing the various market forms detaily
    CO2 - Understands monopolistic competition and oligopoly market forms more detaily. Covering theories and concepts comes under this.
    CO3 - The course contains income distribution among various factors of production and factor pricing
    CO4 - Attain proficiency in the discipline of welfare economics and important theories comes under this.

    Core Course :Economics Of Growth & Development

    CO1 - Discuss basic concepts dealt with economic growth and development
    CO2 - Also contain different approaches to the development process
    CO3 - Brings knowledge in theories regards growth v/s development
    CO4 - Allows to know more about human resource and human capital formation.

    Complementary Course:An Introduction To Political Science

    CO1 - Gives an account of basics of political science discipline
    CO2 - To know major political ideologies like Liberalism, Gandhism etc
    CO3 - To understand the exact outcome of democracy and includes classification of government

  • Core Course : Macroeconomics I

    CO1 - Provides an introduction to broad discipline of macro economics
    CO2 - Gives a detailed study of the classical schools of thought of macro economics
    CO3 - Learn Keynesian macroeconomics detaily
    CO4 - Help to understand Orthodox Keynesian model of macro economics

    Core Course: Public Economics

    CO1 - Provides a detailed analysis of Indian public finance and federal finance
    CO2 - Students can acquire information in public revenue of in a broad sense
    CO3 - Also states the detailed analysis of public expenditure

    Complementary Course :Indian Constitution-Social Issues In India

    CO1 - To know the Indian Constitution, fundamental rights and duties of people
    CO2 - To study about Indian federalism and decentralisation
    CO3 - To understand the Judicial system in India
    CO4 - To analyse various challenges faced by Indian political system

    CO1 - Primarly focus on awareness about necessity of protecting nature and it's resources and its careful implementation
    CO2 - Study meaning of natural resource,eco system, biodiversity and its conservation
    CO3 - Study environmental -social issues, impacts and methods to solve it
    CO4 - Know more about the relationship between economics and environmental analysis

    Core Course : Introductory Econometrics

    CO1 - To know the discipline of econometrics some detaily
    CO2 - To understand more about regression
    CO3 - Help to understand multiple regression,detection etc

    Open Course :Fundamentals Of Economics

    CO1 - This course is designed to make the undergraduate students of other disciplines aware of the basic ideas and concepts in Economics.
    CO2 - To know fundamentals of public revenue and public expenditure
    CO3 - To understand financial system and international trade
    CO4 - To understand Indian economic development
