Mar Athanasius College Association, kothamangalam is one of the topmost educational agencies in Kerala which render valuable services to the society by imparting quality learning experience. It produces academicians and international sports persons almost every year.
Mar Baselios College, Adimaly is the actualization of a long cherished dream of the Association, especially of the founder Secretary of the association Prof. M.P. Varghese, a visionary, educational philosopher, and renowned economist who led Mar Athanasius College Association for a long period of time. Understanding the growing educational needs of the High Ranges, College Association put great effort in making the dream come true.
Nearly two decades back in the 2003-2004 academic year, the Government of Kerala sanctioned the order to start a new un-aided self-financing Arts and Science college. The college was named after St. Yeldo Mar Baselios. Thus Mar Baselios College Adimaly started functioning in a building that towered in a five acre plot amidst hills. Away from the chaos, our college provides a wonderful serene environment which facilitates every possible means for experiencing quality learning, nurturing creativity, inculcating values, and enhancing a wide perspective.
Bcom. Model I – Computer Application was the course that we offered in the first batch in 2003. 29 was the total strength of the students. In the 2009-2010 academic year our first PG Programme, Master of commerce with the specialization in Finance, started. In the 2010-2011 academic year we started two more UG programmes, BCA and BBA. Bcom Model I- Finance and Taxation, an additional batch of 60 students was sanctioned in the year 2014. Then in the year 2015 we started BA English Model 3: Triple Main- Literature, Communication and Journalism. In the 2021-2022 academic year we began a new UG Programme BA Economics.
Over the years the college has grown into one of the most acclaimed educational institutions in Adimaly which ensures quality education. At present our team consists of the Principal, 30 teaching staff and 6 non-teaching staff and we offer six UG Courses - Bcom Model I- Computer Application, Bcom Model I - Finance and Taxation, BBA, BCA, BA English Triple Main, BA Economics and one PG Course -Mcom Finance. Thousands of students from suburbs of different strata of Adimaly found Mar Baselios College, as a beacon of light. Our academic excellence was awarded with university 15th rank to Nivya Alex (BCA 2019) and 3rd rank to Malavika Santhosh (BCA 2020).
There is a large Computerised library which facilitates a remarkable atmosphere and reading experience with a total number of 3828 books. Computer lab consisting of a total number of 45 computer systems. College sports academy provides unmatchable coaching for football and cricket. Our rose garden is one of the amazing spectacles during the spring season. 360 varieties of rose in different colours blossom every year.
Blessings of St. Yeldo Mar Baselios’ and the legacy of the MA College Association throws lights on our path. The institution achieved the current status through the untiring efforts of all the teaching and non-teaching staff who have been rendering their wholehearted service as well as the students who have been choosing the institution and working hard to fulfill their ambition.
